Day 14 - Cortez, Colorado

Well today was Sunday and a day of rest, well sort of. Got three loads of laundry done, some coleslaw made (I cheat, I buy mixed shredded cabbage), we got the carpets out and did some vacuuming. Ross cleaned the outside windows and the front dash. We're ready for action ...

We took naps after lunch. The weather went from quite sunny to heavy clouds. We even had some snow falling for a short while. I found myself a book in the laundry room which I have borrowed...."Travels with Charley" by John Steinbeck, written in 1960. Very nicely written. I am really enjoying it and sharing outloud some sections with Ross.

Around dinner time, this 'Das Rollende Hotel' - Rotel Tour' bus arrived at the campground. You can see for yourself (photo). These are German tourists (23) who are touring the US Southwest for 3 weeks. They sleep in their own little section in the bus. Two windows per section. Food is served from a kitchen on the side you see, in the open air. I spoke to a couple of ladies in the washroom and they were complaining of the cold. Their sleeping accommodations are very warm but it is when you come out, not so much fun. Better them than us. And by the way, there are 7 tents set up outside tonight. It is 3 degrees C now and will probably go down to -4!!

We have also included the photo of the red-tail hawk tonight on a request from one of our followers. Tomorrow we are back on the road heading for new adventures.
